Growth and Presentation Baby Scan

The Growth and Presentation Baby Scan is essential for monitoring your baby's development during the later stages of pregnancy. Available from 24 weeks onwards, this scan assesses your baby's growth, checks their position, and evaluates key indicators of health to ensure your pregnancy is progressing smoothly.

Please take note! - A 25% additional charge will be added on for any multiple pregnancy scan.

Our experienced sonographers use advanced ultrasound technology to measure your baby's size, weight, and overall growth. The scan also checks the baby's position (head down, breech, etc.), the amount of amniotic fluid, and the health of the placenta, providing you with a comprehensive overview of your baby's well-being.

During the Growth and Presentation Scan, we will:

1- Measure your baby's head, abdomen, and thigh bone to estimate their size and weight.
2- Assess your baby's position in the womb.
3- Check the health of the placenta and the amount of amniotic fluid.
4- Ensure there are no complications affecting your baby's growth.

FAQs

1. What is a growth and presentation scan, and when is it typically done?

A growth and presentation scan is an ultrasound used to check the baby's size, growth, and position in the later stages of pregnancy, usually between 28 and 40 weeks. It helps monitor the baby's health and ensures they are in the correct position for birth.

2. Why is a growth scan important during pregnancy?

A growth scan is important to ensure the baby is developing at a healthy rate. It measures the baby's size, checks the amniotic fluid levels, and assesses the position of the placenta. This scan can identify issues such as growth restrictions, allowing for timely intervention if necessary.

3. Can the baby's position change after a presentation scan?

Yes, the baby's position can change after a presentation scan, especially before 36 weeks. Most babies naturally move into the head-down position before labour. If the baby is breech (feet first) or in another position, your healthcare provider may discuss options for delivery or ways to help the baby turn.
